The Shojais—Tracie, an interior designer, Ramin, a senior specialist for the World Bank—met salsa dancing in Washington, DC. When they married, they traveled the globe. Art. Music. Food. Wine. Then? Two beautiful daughters. And the desire to root themselves where Tracie’s family has lived for four generations—the Southern Willamette Valley. Eugene, Oregon. Home.

Now? Their love of food and wine has come home, too. In RAIN Northwest, they’ve brought fine dining to west Eugene. Our neighborhood, ready for local foods exquisitely served.

Executive Chef Scott Pisani, sought for his ability to bring the flavors of the Pacific Northwest alive with texture and color. Scott cooked for guests at the Crazy Mountain Guest Ranch in Montana. Trained CIA-New York chefs. Acted in, played drums at, and cooked for a dinner theater. Honed his skills for three years as sous chef in a popular Eugene nouveau restaurant. Worked diligently under a two-time Oregon Iron Chef and multiple award winning restaurateur. Now, he orchestrates the completely open kitchen at RAIN Northwest. His mastery comes to life in a stunning, purpose-built theater for food. Each plate—an unparalleled performance.

Our very name is a celebration. Of the bounty of local produce and wine, courtesy of the plentiful Oregon rain. Our foundation? Our relationships with Oregon’s farmers, foragers, artisans, fishermen, and ranchers, all bringing you the best of the Pacific Northwest. Our menu, laden with foods grown in fresh air, clean water, and local riverbed loam, The temperate Northwest climate—year-round herbs, vegetables, and fruit. Seafood, redolent with the Pacific's salty brine. Meat and poultry rich in nutrients imparted by free-ranging in local fields. This is terroir. This is home.
